I took my Hurth V-drive off and was disappointed at the rust on the aft nut and surrounding area. I'm sure that contributes to seals getting contaminated and developing leaks. With the tranny installed I can barely see this area, let alone reach around to work on it ... but I could certainly keep it oiled, or lubed with Boeshield or even tranny oil or something like that. I need something to help fight rust, that doesn't damage the seals in any way. Any suggestions?
