A shaft seal has a minuscule passing of briney moisture. I noticed it on several boats where you see a line of corrosion orthogonaly to the axis of the shaft. To avoid this, I installed a flexible clear plastic shield. You don't see any noticeable fluid, but I don't have the same corrosion line.

Otherwise, I would look for a leak from your raw water system.
