I forgot about it until a friend noticed the chunk out of my prop(about 1/2" at the widest part). I remember it was quite a jolt but I can't remember if I saw a buoy in my wake. Usually they burst like a cooking kernel of popcorn. I wonder about the newer more solid buoys some lobstermen are using? Maybe this was something metal in the water?
Curiously, there was no noticeable vibration for the rest of the season. Does anyone know if this can be repaired(oh no, another prop pulling thread,....)?
Then I'm wondering, should I even care as it created no performance problems, and just file it "fair" and forget about it?
