Smaller is easier to handle. What about a compromise, 120%? 
In Response To: New jib: overlapping vs non-overlapping ()
We went from 150 to 130 and the added ease in tacking between the two is substantial(I could not get the 150 through a tack before the boat could steer through). I can't see any measurable loss in sailing performance and I sometimes wonder if I should have gone to a 120%
This is a tough decision Max. You quote your sailmaker, "He doesn't think I will give up much in sailing performance,", .... There's a very subjective statement.
