Or, as done as a boat ever gets. It was quite a learning experience being a solo sailor most of the summer. I managed not to get hit in the head, fall over the side or any of the dark side.
The only bad thing is that Lake Erie water levels are dropping like a stone. We hauled for the season in mid-September, earliest ever. That meant the sails were off and mast was down the 2nd week of September so the season was over. There are less than a dozen boats in the club that draw over 5', we are one of them at 5'6". After whacking the bottom a bunch of times we finally got dragged by hand lines through the last 30' or so of mud into the liftwell. All but one of the boats decided to haul early, the last guy waited until the last minute in October and had to time it with a West wind and a tug on a towline. Many places in the club are shale so the only way to make it deeper is dynamite or something. We have several piles of rocks left over from when an old seawall was moved, that will be dredged. If the water does not come up at least a foot we will be spendning next summer on jackstands. Unfortunately there are only two places on the bayfront with deep water, both are crazy expensive.
