I was reading about a daysailer being built in my harbor right now. The client asked Fontaine to redesign the centerboard arrangement and eliminate the ballast stub keel. All that to reduce the draft from 3'11" down to 2'8". Might sound ludicrous to some considering the work involved, but the client wants to get to his dock. Could be a more effective centerboard as well.
