One of my simple, easy and often ok looking tricks is to simply fill the holes with truss head machine screws or machine screws & fender washers. It looks like they are there to hold something on the inside.... For some things it won't look right but for others it works fine... No one has ever looked into my cabin to see if the bolts actually do anything....
