If your draft is 6 ft and your mast less than 65 ft take the ICW. Check with the Army Corp of Engineers about draft restrictions. If possible take the Dismal Swamp route and stop an Elizabeth city. Find an ICW cruising guide - any age - they don't change except for the advertizing.
