Several years ago, we had a barrel of cheap cleats at Defender, about 3 or 4" chromed brass, selling for $2 or $3 in clearance. A woman came in and bought about 3 dozen. I asked what she was going to do with them. "Cabinet pulls" she replied. I smiled at thought "what a great idea". Certainly cheaper and more 'nautical' that the similar pulls at HD. Don't know if Defender has any left..
