After contacting Ritchie, I bought Ritchie Compass Fluid from West Marine which I see they still have. The label also says Aliphatic Hydrocarbons. It was many years ago, but it seems to me it is compatible with most compass fluids.

I might also add I usually do this over the winter and sometimes have to let it sit for several days and redo the process.
