No, you would not have to replace the whole tank

The macerator can be removed.

However, I don't see any benefit to putting a macerator IN a tank...it reduces the tank capacity considerably in the typical 15025 gallon tank and the corrosive nature of urine gives macerators a pretty short life span in any tank, including those large enough for the capacity loss to be a non-issue.

The Sweetank is a lot more than gizmo...it works and IS worth the effort and expense--far more so than vent line filters for $80 apiece! A solar panel with decent storage capacity should be adequate to power the pump on a boat on a mooring.
