The way the pic is displayed and with the title of the article, it looks as if the boat struck this pier, at night, and was still there on top of the pier.

It took me a moment to realize that this is probably their launching area and the boat is raised and lowered.

Got to admit it does look strange with that headline... "What’s happening at the jetties?" And the post here "Running into fixed objects..."
