of Puerto Rico still waiting to cross. It looks like we'll head out tomorrow morning. Right now the wind has clocked around to out of the West South West and blowing right into the anchorage. With any luck it will act like the forecast and switch to East. None of the forecasters have got it right in several days. We were suppose to get 15 to 20 a few days ago and ended up running down wind under the jib alone with it gusting to over 40 knots. The seas cranked up along with the winds but we started taking photos of it so it calmed right down. At least it looks like it anyway. Sophia is a 40 foot Manta Cat and while looking out the back we could see the tops of the waves were over the top of the dinghy davits and bimini frame. This trip wasn't suppose to be like this! My last two trips were beating up the Baja coast doing the "Baja Bash" and this one was supposed to be a leisurely cruise through the Bahamas! We spent last night in Pajaros and the night prior in Salinas. Both were wonderful small Puerto Rican towns where people are salsa dancing in the streets outside the local bars, kids hanging out on the docks with their girlfriends and generally enjoying life. It's a slice of Mexico mixed with a lot of Caribbean dashed with a touch of good old USA. I've always liked the mix although I haven't been here in quite some time. It's overall attitude doesn't seem to have changed much. With any luck it's Ocean World in the DR next stop.
