We've had perfect trade wind sailing to make the miles, that with a full moon for night sailing. Winds have been mostly force 4, never more than force 5. Seas were up a bit last night on way from Mayaguana to here, making for impressive surf near the entrance. It was good to touch solid ground for the first time in over a week.
John, thanks for the suggestion regarding Clarence Town. We're looking forward to the next couple days here after the usual internet access orgy following deprivation for more than a week.
We have anchored in a few places and had nice snorkeling. We had to scrap one outing due to a dinghy leak. We would have gone to the reef outside the harbor in Mayaguana where there is a sunken warship with cannons from the 1700's. There's a little wood left. Maybe next time. It is reportedly near the cut at the east end of the harbor.
After getting beat up a bit now and then in Mexico and off Oregon/California last year, it was nice to have steady sailing, especially overnight. With four competent crew aboard, we each had only 3 2-hour watches per day. What a luxury!
