The smaller one would be a good choice. 7'6" LOA. I know of people that have built the 7'6" to fit foredecks, even slightly shortened them to fit between mast and dodger(as well as two piece versions). The 7'6" would fit easily on your foredeck. I don't know the exact beam areas you asked about. It's a good deal lighter too, ours weighs about a 100 pounds. Ours has never been on our foredeck, but it might fit leaning over one deck.

The 7'6" is fine for two and performs at it's best under oar and sail with one aboard(same for any dinghy). I've never had anyone tell me they didn't like their Nutshell. See if you can find a 7'6" to take out for a row.
