One mans safety device is another mans hazzard.

I like lifelines on my boat but in this size, I think they wouldn't add much in the way of safety. This is a small boat, just over 8' wide. The decks aft are little more than a foot above water. I think it was designed more for what we would consider "gunkholing" as opposed to crossing oceans.

I agree, on most boats, lifelines are a balance asset but shouldn't be depended on to keep your stumbling body on board.
