My Dad was the reason I learned to sail. He started sailing at the age of 15 in International 14s. That was the end of the 30's and some friends of his got him into it. There was no looking back after that. He had a couple of dinghies then a Dragon, a Niagara 30 which he finished from a bare hull and then a Viking 33. I grew up sailing and racing on the Niagara 30 and the Viking. We won a lot of races on those boats. After heading south and cruising for a year he had another Dragon for a while which we raced so he could keep the Viking for cruising.
My Dad died about a year and a half ago but this photo is how I remember him best.
