Haven't really investigated it, but I've heard quotes for a modest cottage like mine around $30-40K... There are some government grants and low interest loans to help defray the cost, but I'm not interested anyway... I like my place just the way it is, I'll take the chance this was a once-in-a-lifetime event for me... I don't need to raise it to obtain flood insurance, and don't consider it worth doing in terms of a potential resale, as whoever might buy my place would likely knock it down and build something far bigger, anyway...

Most of the new/rebuilding around here is gonna be on pilings, however...
