Boat shoes like Sperry Topsiders are crap, in my opinion. They work for a very, very short time and then the non-skid is useless. I used to buy volley ball sneakers in the old days because of the sticky, gummy soles. Now that black soles don't leave black marks, I just buy regular sneakers with nylon uppers. I think they work ten times better than "boat shoes".

Of course, now I just buy clod hoppers for my present situation.
