This makes me think of the Maine Cat 41. There are a few in the marina where I used to winter my boat. I noticed that the lowest points are the saildrives followed by the spade rudders. No keel or skeg protection from collision or grounding. I asked one of the boat owners one day if the rudders are designed to support the boat in event it dries out or runs aground. He said "no". That was a short conversation, as the only thing I could think of was to ask if he ever thought about adding a strong skeg, and he said no to that also.
Sometimes it is what it is. Many boats have critical design issues. Very common in rigging.
