The "sovereignty of moorings"

comes from a Mystery Harbor reply on page 11 of the August Points East. The balls further in Cabots' Cove are "destination" moorings? Will look at them next time. People were still anchoring and not taking them while we were there. But to avoid starting any royal wars....

The pot we spun up was right there when I put HW in gear. Think the Shark works best when the line is under tension. We heard (and felt) a thunk in Jericho Bay, slowed to look around and saw nothing, not even a loose-floating buoy. A nearby lobster boat also stopped and appeared to be watching us. Then we all motored (sigh) off. Below is what we later found in Lunt's Harbor. At least with the offset prop, I could easily unwind it.

Seal Harbor? Always wonder about it as we pass through Eastern Way. A bit exposed but pretty.

Onset Harbor may have more town transient moorings come next summer and even launch service, the harbormaster told me yesterday. Later I decided it may just be a way to get money from us seniors who don't pay for dinghy stickers. Next year will be the Cape Cod Canal's centennial anniversary and the 200th anniversary of the Town of Wareham's role in the War of 1812. Will advise. May be too exciting to pass up for Maine or be a reason to go!
