My shower sump stopped working; but the motor was running and the water was showing movement in and out of the drain hole but wasn't going down. I stuck my finger in the drain and confirmed the water was being pumped in and out with each pump stroke. Then the wood grate fell on the floor, and it started pumping correctly. Huh? There's just a hose under the floor-- the pump is at least 6 feet away.

Next shower I had the same issue, pump motor worked but water didn't go down. This time I stomped my foot and it started working.

This doesn't make sense. Anyone have any idea what's going on?
