Worse place on the Eastern Caribbean is Samana in the DR

() We had 5 marines with AK47's and muddy boots along with an interpreter board our boat and basically demand $20.00 per person before moving on. That wasn't for customs or immigration either. Just the local hussle by men with guns. When we took the dingy to the dock we were extorted for $5.00 to watch the dingy. We paid it for fear of not having it upon return.
Samana in the DR the worse place in the Caribbean for people with their hands out. We left at the earliest weather window to cross the Mona.
The best place for welcoming locals? Luperon. Of course, things change. That was 02 and 03.
