5200,, terrible stuff.

I needed to replace 9 large windows on TD when we purchased her. Some nitwit used 5200 to secure the Lexan in place, then used more 5200 to bond the exterior frames to the Lexan and fiberglass. I guess he didn't think all the screws were strong enough. It took me almost 2 weeks to remove the windows destroying the fiberglass and frames in the process using chisels, hammers, wedges and sweat go it done. Another week to rebuild the fiberglass that the hammers and chisels destroyed.

I decided after that to never have or use 5200 on the boat. 5200 is for something you will never take apart and on a boat you never know if you'll need to do that.

I guess the good part is that I got to have beautiful Stainless Steel custom made frames. So what if it cost a small fortune, it looked good.
