Now that we've swallowed the hook I'm trying to organize all the photos we took in some sort of order selecting the best and throwing out hundreds if not thousands in the process. I must have a hundred photos of Boobies in Belize. More than a hundred AVI videos under sail showing the wind indicator, speed, bow wave and open ocean. Thousands of photos shot underwater of beautiful coral formations not to mention all the shots of towns, people and images along the way.
Anyone that has cruised has probably taken way too many photos. It wasn't a problem until 'digital' became popular as it didn't cost anything. When digital became popular it all changed. At the moment the chore is to get all the photos in one place throwing out the obvious poorly taken ones and attempting to find all the duplicates that get generated by updating computers and sharing photos with the Admiral. That in itself is a job that will take days. I'm going to go crazy with what to keep and what to throw out.
I guess I could reason that the fun was in the taking and not in the viewing but there are so many memories and great photos (at least I think so) it seems a waste to have them so disorganized and sitting on some hard drive that no one will ever go through.
I just though of something,,,,, I can put the hard drive in a box and after I'm gone the family can throw it out. That would be easy!
