Since we started cruising we've had 5 or 6 computers. I still have the oldest hard drive (20 gigs ) from an old Macbook that was thrown away years ago. The biggest job is finding photos that I may have on one hard drive but not another. When updating computers I did my best to transfer everything during the upgrade but I'm finding batches of photos from some place or time that aren't anywhere else. And I'm just guessing as the photo data base is so huge.
I'm thinking of just transferring every photo from every hard drive duplicating them as may take place. That would give me about 250 gigs of photos. From there use software to discover all the duplicates and put them some place else. I could then assume that I have all the photos in one place.
After all the photos without duplicates are in one place, start just picking the ones I like the best taking a few weeks to do it.
When that's done take another couple of weeks making a coffee table book. Only thing is,,, if I make a coffee table book it should include exerts from many of the hundreds of log entries and ssb emails back to family. Without that there's no story to go with the photos. That would be a job for the Admiral as she made the entries and emails.
In the end it would be a nice remembrance. The flip side of that is why do any of it. We spent the time, did the trip, took the photos and remember most but not all of it. Perhaps it should be left that way.
'Photo Overload', so, we're heading out to watch 'Gravity' in IMAX & 3D now. Photo will have to wait.
