thinner than the Speedseal plate. I don't think the OEM plate could be milled without it turning into tin foil. The Speedseal plate is thick and could be milled and still be strong. The inside surface (shown in the original past) is warn badly. The outside of the plate has name & numbers engraved in it so it can't be just turned over.

I decided to order the new "Life" model as it looks like a big improvement over a simple flat plate. AND, I have a friend who has offered to mill my original Speedseal plate. So I will have that as a spare.
