I attended a trade show recently presented by the Gorilla in the room of marine aftermarket distributors. The CEO of the parent company did a presentation on the last morning. The gist was that there are a lot more people falling off the end of the market than getting on the other side......and that their pontoon business is "where its at" in that market. The really interesting thing that he mentioned was his memories of his first boating experience, his was a power boat experience of course, as is most peoples. He did ask the question of the group, there were 100's of us BTW, to remember our first boating experience and how it changed us.
So I have vowed to take a young person or two sailing next summer, how about you? I remember the first time that I went out on my dads home built plywood sailfish, I was hooked.
Learn to sail and you will sail forever....
Pontoon once and well...we only have ourselves to blame....
