when we were cruising the Sea of Cortez, we ran into a pontoon boat cruising also! We were amazed. It was a family of 4. They had a largeish Pontoon boat with 2 outboards. They also had a tent set up on it. They towed it down, launched it, provisioned, then ran out to an anchorage and beached the bow. They would live for a week or more, then race back and restock & head out again. The name of the boat was "Couch Potato".
