It looks like they are talking about racing - "World Yacht Racing Forum and Design & Technology Symposium". AND, a quote from the article, "focuses on the professional layer of the sport". With the new AC-72s as "THE" boat, how can any one compete??

As sailors, we are each our own captains and I find NO NEED to listen to "Industry leaders"!!! I care NOT what they say. Most, if not all of us, have our own boats.

During our recent cruise in the San Francisco Bay & Delta, we stopped at the Stockton Sailing club. They were having a Kids sailing camp. WHAT FUN WE HAD!!!! More than 90 kids there!!

I just recently posted a video on our YouTube page about the cruise and near the end is a clips of the event. You would NOT think sailing was out if you were watching the event. We got such a kick out of just eves dropping on some of the kids talk. NONE of it was about electronics/games. At one point 4 tween girls were walking by us and one was saying how another forced her to head-up but she got back at her later by taking her wind and forcing her to tack!!! Another time the boats were called in for lunch. One was still out sailing and a camp person hollered to the guy that lunch was ready. His reply was laud and clear. It was, "I can eat any time, I want to sail NOW"!!
