I see so many located above the compass I can't imagine it's affecting the compass, much?

I think I'll probably go for one of those. The size would fit well(better than the 5" Garmin CP I have now) on the swinging location in my companionway. If you mount it on the binnacle guard, can you turn it to face you if you're sitting to either side of the wheel?
