I installed a helm mounted VHF with problems.
In Response To: Unexpected chartplotter issue ()
We were in Chagaramous Trinidas and installed a small Icom VHF at the helm. I didn't notice it but the speaker in the radio had the compass pointing to it all the time.
We hit a squall on leaving and with all the chaos it can bring I was also removing the radio so I knew what direction we were pointing. We ended up with the radio on the cockpit sole For the next 200 miles before finding a sutable place.
