that had the cracked block used that method with the light bulb in the engine compartment. I took a pass on that boat. It might work for some but I'd opt for a real heater.

Maybe it was because the boat was cored below the waterline and better insulated, so didn't get as much temperature moderation through the hull from the sea water.
