We have a MaxProp VP, so can adjust

it without too much difficulty, but not while under way.
A few highly experienced authors suggest we should set the pitch too coarse to allow the engine to reach max revs. This appeals to me to reduce noise and vibration, and improve performance when motoring in calm. On the other hand, we do not want engine damage or poor performance motoring into a steep chop.

Any comments on experience with pitch coarser than that which allows max engine RPM would be of interest
