Hey Doug,
2014 is not starting out as a banner year for multihulls offshore, this Condor 40 tri was abandoned the other day 20 miles out...
Well, at least the CG Rescue Swimmers are getting plenty of practice this winter... (grin)
Interesting to see how much this thing seems to want to capsize to windward, with the starboard hull obviously flooded... Damn, that is one grungy-looking mainsail on that thing...

Here is the end result of one of the first Polar Vortex-related abandonments, this guy was "caught out" in his small monohull by the first cold snap to dip into the Gulf of Mexico back in early January... Yeah, sure was tough to see THAT weather coming, it was virtually not forecast at all, caught the entire country by surprise, right? (grin) Hmmm, perhaps NOAA weather is out in the Keys, as well...
Happy New Year to you and Leslie, Doug, and best regards,
Jon
