That was before my time in Freeport, Tom

My folks bought a shore lot and built a cottage there in 1962 or 63 when we were still living in Vermont. We move there in 1970. My friend, Randy, has vague memories, as a confused little kid, of a lot of adults crying. There is a memorial erected to the lost crew of Windfall at the town owned Winslow Park where they hold a memorial service each year. I need to re-read Coles' account of the storm. Will, one of the sons of the owner/captain, tells me he has a copy of a Downeast article written about the event that he'll scan for me when he has the time.
