should be an easy SIM card swap on my iPhone, and you are right there seems to be good coverage everywhere we have been. But I went into the office in Marsh Harbor, there was one customer service agent and four people waiting. They actually had a waiting room, with magazines, like a doctors office. It looked like about a 2 hour wait, so, being an impatient gen X American, I left .
We have a Spectra water maker which I finally commissioned in Norfolk - not much use for until now, I figured if I don't use it in the Bahamas I will probably never use it. It is a high maintenance item, but it makes more water than we can possibly use, at a lower energy cost than the refrigerator. On a sunny day the solar cells will power it easily, pumping out 12 gallons an hour. I'm even contemplating washing the decks with it!
So far I have found Windfinder to be the most accurate (and these seem to come directly from GFS GRIBS), the Parker predicted 40-50 knot front had gusts last night occasionally as high as 20. I can get GRIBs on Sirius weather for free, but only 48 hours out - which is about the limit of accuracy anyway.
We have found the locals friendly and welcoming everywhere.
