Ditto on what Steve says about internet … he helped me out couple years ago ...

… and I'm very happy about that. We should have told you this before you left, sorry. You need that Unlocked Wireless Aircard. Mine is a AT&T Sierra Wireless Lightning. I have an inexpensive $45 cell phone from BaTelCo, with the SIM Card, so do that. Then get the Data Card from BaTelCo and plug that in, then USB to laptop. As Steve says. Good internet as long as we can see a tower, works great for me. You can find these on ebay or the internet. If you have someone visiting you, have them get one and bring to you. I wound up getting set up at the BaTelCo office in Nassau, at the Mall, again recommended by Steve, thanks again !

Steve … questions for you please. How are the Jumentos, hope all is well. How do you manage to keep the cell number for your BaTelCo phone, or do you just let it recycle and get a new one each year ? What are you using for a cell phone Booster ? I'm heading that way soon, and will likely purchase the Wilson SOHO 60 products … pricey, but best recommended I've seen. And, I'm assuming I can simply pop into a BaTelCo office this year, purchase the SIM Card, sign up for Data, and pop that SIM Card into the Aircard and be working … no configuration or set up required this time around ?

I wouldn't sweat the water maker this time around. Steve is correct, it will determine your schedule, and that can suck. But sounds like you are on a sight-seeing trip this year, bouncing around quite a bit, which will likely find you near fresh water sources when need be. We still do not have a water-maker, but sure wish we did, its on the list. We can easily get by 2 weeks and maybe 3 if need be. But we're usually with friends who have one, or, I have no problem asking one of the larger power boats we see infrequently if we can pull up and fill our tanks, which they always do. And most times we wind up having cocktails or dinner and meeting really nice folks. Or, you could pray for and catch rain, but in the Bahamas this time of year, you'll probably be praying quite a bit. Come June and tropical LO time in the Bahamas, catching fresh water will not be a problem.

Steve is also spot on about the Fronts, as we get into Spring, the Fronts coming across FLA and N Bahamas, rarely make it past Georgetown.

Cheers, John
