One of the two baffles in my 50 gallon port water tank let go in a 35 knot blow south of Nova Scotia last August. It's a stainless tank with a 8" square access port - the baffle was welded in and the welds let to. It will be hard, if not impossible, to reattach. I am wondering if I really need a baffle in a 50 gallon water tank . . . Any thoughts? I don't really want to remove and replace the tank. If I had to reattach the baffle and welding it back is impossible. . . I would think about through boltingand bedding some strategically placed brackets . . .
