Well....

Are installing the pimp because you need to have one?

We have a Yanmar which doesn't need a supplemental pump in our case. We installed a supplemental electrical pump as you desire without any filter.

We only run the pump when filling the dual Racor(nka Parker) filters or when bleeding the engine ( which is better done manually if you have to loosen the fittings).

Our pump is not sized to perform fuel transfers, it wouldn't hurt bet doesn't help to run when the engine is on. It is NOT pressure regulated.

I think the pre filter is more important if you have a vehicle tank where the flows are higher, you don't have downstream separator/pre filters, and you have a "tractor" tank which has questionable fuel.

The small accessory pump that Beta shows doesn't look like it has an internal filter.

I wouldn't put one in unless you planned on changing it regularly and had spares for that "dark and stormy".
