I guess Jaws overshadowed the Quint character for me. Just spent twenty minutes watching a Youtube video and reading Quint quotes. They had fun with that movie. We had a tradition of skinny dipping in nearby waters with entire wedding parties during a decade of several marriages. Hard not to remember Jaws. We never lost a swimmer or a sneakered leg either!
