Photoday! The first launch of a boat you built yourself, is an event.

Even a small one. Before our son completes his CLC plans built rowing shell-now extreme kayak, I suggested he dunk it in the harbor to see where he needs to sit for proper trim.

It is fast he found with just a dinghy oar! He's since knocked the center out of the bulkhead for his legs and mounted a higher laminated frame for the decking, which he's begun.

In this photo, he's probably checking out the paddles on these kayakers headed up the Goose River, as he's building one himself, out of lumberyard spruce.
