My very first job as a resident of San Diego was the sign painter at Belmont Park. The side of my shop opened up so I could look out over Mission Beach. I got to paint 4'x8' murals/cartoons throughout the park, I used to pick up comic books at the 7-11 on Mission Blvd and use them as models.........Fantastic 4, Silver Surfer and others all came to be life size on sheets of plywood around the bases of the rides.
