which does your friend no good at all! But it is a good product, has the advantage that when you strip the threads it can be drilled out and a new one installed. Probably better pull out resistance than threading into the aluminum, at least in a thinnish wall. McMaster has them, not sure where you would find them in the Azores. I know they are poplar in Europe as I have seen several products from there with them installed.

If you are going to bond it I would use Plexus MA adhesive. Quite strong and a little flexible to accommodate thermal changes. My sail track is glued on with that stuff (no fasteners at all) and it seems pretty tough.
