Rodd - I think #1 was the answer
In Response To: Larry... ()

I checked today and my Xantrex XBM was set to the default of 13.8 volts for a reset. So if it got a reading of 13.8 held for 5 minutes it would reset to indicate my batteries are at 100% of capacity. Considering bulk and absorption set points are now at 14.4 it's going to indicate my batteries are fully charged well before they really are. So I've had my battery monitor tell me that the batteries are fully charged when in fact they're not, and then seeing 12.6 surface voltages go to 12.4 or even lower after moderate use, making me think the batteries don't really have the capacity they're rated for.

What's been happening is that I was starting from a much lower charge state than the XBM was indicating, and chronically undercharging too. So today I changed the XBM to reset at 14.2, and I question if that's high enough. I don't see a way to set it to not reset, unless I put it up to 15, but maybe that's the answer.

Edit: read your pbase site article again and will change it to reset at 14.4 and charge acceptance of 1.5%.
