My wife is v happy with hers.

We have had good success with using AT&T hotspot running off iPhone but minimum plan for "tethering" is 5 gigabyte for $50/month. We use it one or two months a year.

Supposedly limited speed cell data is free on our iPad in Canada with minimum 1GB $10 US data plan on our TMobile iPad. I'm skeptical but will try on our cruise. It can do hotspot, no minimum plan required. 100mb data free in US. I'm using that for current post. OK if mostly text activity.
