Some ipads have GPS 
In Response To: What do you use for a GPS receiver? ()
() Our ipad has the builtin GPS. We used it crossing from the Galapagos to Polynesia and it functioned the entire way perfectly. For backups we have hockey pucks for the computers, iphone and an older GPS hand held. Also on our VHF it has a built in GPS. It's almost difficult to buy something nowadays without builting GPS.
