And it is probably our favorite entrance to Acadia National Park. Not only a convenient terminal for the free bus system, you can dinghy to the dock for Asticou and Thuya Gardens. The Thuya trail up the mountain also connects to other Acadia Park trails.

As protected as an anchorage gets. And it is an interesting eclectic mix of working buzz to massive yachts.

As you mention with the water dock, I think Northeast has improved quite a bit in the last decade. The new harbor layout and amenities are a real plus for us. Wonderful bath facilities, water dock, internet that actually works, launch servie(never used it though...) made a few days there last season quite nice.
