That's not far from Penobscot Bay. And Black Sea Bass, a southern fish, have become prevalent to the point that Maine is going to regulate their catch in the Gulf.
Those are facts in the article. Nothing about Coral reef movement. Some fish species are moving with the water temperature that suits them(they're always done that).
Maine shrimp fishing was closed all together this year due partly to the fact the stocks are moving to the north to cooler water.
The tough scientific question is why is the rate of temperature rise in the Gulf of Maine higher than other areas of the oceans? My guess would be something unique to our currents in this area. It would be great if scientists could answer the question but the rate the Gulf if rising means we're likely to see more in the next few decades, maybe even the next few years. Good to be 100 feet above the harbor on solid granite.
