Cruising Permit Exemption
In Response To: Shipping ()

Only parts for the boat are exempt from duty. And that is subject to change. The following note was attached to my Watermakers Invoice: "Items brought in under a valid cruising permit are no longer exempt from duty. Duty on most items is 45% as of July 2008. Customers with cruising permit are required to pay a $10.00 stamp tax." That's certainly confusing and ambiguous and allows most anything to happen. BTW: As there is no Immigration/Customs office at Staniel, the Watermakers flight stops along the way for immigration and customs processing.
